Falling (prose)

I snuck into your bedroom through an open window. Your window was directly opposite mine. You said you saw me in yellow the previous day.

Tonight I hoped you would catch me in sequined pink. Catch me draped in colorful sequined dress with sparkling earrings. Earrings that was a gift …a gift I didn’t understand the last time I saw you. You just left it in a box with a red ribbon at my front door.

I didn’t know anything else because no one had been good enough to make it to my front door before. I hadn’t even been to your front door because I was afraid of being turned away. So, I climbed through your window and left my key on the bed for you and left the same way I came.
